Big City Cowboy By: Julie Benson Publisher: Harlequin 11/29/2011

Hard-nosed ad executive, Elizabeth Harrington-Smyth, is on the verge of losing her agency’s biggest pain-in-ass client. What she needs is a designer jeans model-spokesman who represents “real” men.

The economy has taken a toll on tourism and sales of foals are down. A family crisis has Colorado rancher, Rory McAlister, desperate for a fast influx of cash. Rory could be the answer to all Elizabeth’s problems or the camera-shy cowboy could be the start of a whole new problem.

My thoughts: Big City Cowboy is Julie Benson’s debut novel. Cowboy contemporary is not usually my cup of tea, but Julie crafted characters so vibrant and real, with problems and heartaches so touching, she has converted me. I can’t wait to read the next book the series to see what she has in store for the younger brother.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Nonesuch 5/18/2010

Folks who have followed The Black Keys far longer than I, say this album is a departure for the duo. I don't know about that. I do know if you like retro rock, R&B, Delta Blues, and little pinch of weirdness, you will love this album as much as I do.

Shape-shifter Faelan Foley goes to war determined to prove women are as smart and useful as men—instead she falls in love with the enemy.

As a wolf, it’s easy for Faelan to spy in the enemy camp, but when she’s forced to shift to her real form, she’s arrested. Held captive, she develops a soul-searing friendship with enemy leader Aimery Duncan that threatens her heart and loyalty.

Aimery traded the privileged life of an island landholder for the anonymity of a cavalry officer. Now, surprised to find himself field marshal of the Allied Kingdom's army, he faces invading enemy forces. He can’t afford distractions—especially not a prisoner who just might be his soul mate.

Can Duncan do his duty, save Faelan from the hangman’s noose, and somehow convince her that love is stronger than war?
